Shot List is what it sounds like, an assemblage of downloaded still images. This video slash film responds to recent re-viewings of Hollis Frampton’s films Zorn’s Lemma (1970) and Hapax Legomena (1971-73). Shot List itemizes histories of both cinema and photography as well as images recurring throughout both mainstream and ‘underground’ media. Shot List begs questions of montage…does one plus one always equal two and, when it frequently doesn’t, then what might the equation amount two. Shot List moves from origins of photography and cinema through television into the modern age of digital art.
